Celebration of Excellence Lunch
Learners who have been in the top ten of their grades during the year attended the lunch.  The Grade 10 Hospitality learners. did the catering.
Cricketing Success

took 5 wickets for 6 runs in a game against Christchurch.

Taryn Kagan  joined the Science Department  during Mrs James's is accouchement leave.

Matrics Donate to Door of Hope

The Matrics gave the R5000 which they raised from the Valentine Dance, to the Door of Hope.  This is an organisation that cares for abandoned babies.

Colours Assembly
Four white blazers for Tres Honores Awards were presented to Matthew Glitz, Michael Cockerill, Marko Bucarriza and Philene Blom.  The Tres Honores is  Hyde Park's most prestigious award.  It is given to a learner who has three full colours; the award is given cum laude if those colours are in different aspects of school life and maximum cum laude if the full colours are in academics, cultural and sporting activities

Dasantha Pillay wins 2nd place at the Plastics Competition
Dasantha won prizes for herself as well as a number of prizes for the school at the prize-giving she and Mrs Reddy attended in Durban.   In this photo she and other regional winners join in a Coastal Clean Up.

A highlight of this assembly was the Tres Honores award made to Nicky Moss as a result of  her three Full Colours in Swimming, Waterpolo and Netball.

Winter Sports Day
This day is a day of sport and fun for HPHS families.  It marks the end of the winter season sports with Inter-house games and staff and Old Hydes  vs pupil matches.

The theme of this year's ID day, "Heroes and Cartoon Characters" resulted in some inspired costumes.  Money collected from the pupils on the day goes to one of the charities the school supports.

Ling Ting wins national essay writing competition
At a prize giving held on Robben Island, Ling won a bursary to a tertiary institution of her choice. She won prizes for herself as well as for the school.
